Keynote Speaker

Ajay Thomas

Ajay Thomas helped plant Seven Mile Road Church in Philadelphia where he lives and pastors. He also serves as the Executive Director of The Advance Initiative which exists to see a global movement of gospel-centered, multiethnic churches planted by or among South Asians. He is blessed to serve Jesus with his wife Shainu and their two children.

Important Details for Friday

Here’s the plan:

Departing at 3:00 p.m. from Citylight Church

All 200+ pastors and church leaders will depart from the church in 11 vans and buses to visit Alliance churches across the Philadelphia region. Each host church is planning a special dinner and time to connect with you. Expect to hear from your group leader soon about your church assignment. We’ll get you to the right vehicle and place.

Returning between 8:30-9:00 p.m. at the Regal Movie Theater

We will return directly to the movie theater—NOT back to the church. The parking lot address is 3720 Main Street, which is a 15-minute walk to the church.

Parking & Transportation Instructions

  • Carpool if possible and park at the movie theater on Friday morning and walk 15 minutes to the church (flat terrain). Citylight secured free parking for our group!

Need accommodations for the walk? Let us know , and we'll arrange a van to pick you up.

  • Carpool with others to park at the movie theater on Friday morning.

If you’re feeling adventurous, catch the Manayunk/Norristown Line train and stop at the Manayunk station in the morning to walk to the church. In the evening, catch the train from the Wissahickon station near the movie theater.

  • Walk across the pedestrian bridge near the movie theater.

  • Plan to walk back from the movie theater with your group or take an Uber. We encourage you to be mindful of others in your group and wait for them before walking back.

Things To Know

  • There is no available parking at the church and Main Street is limited to two hours.

Because of that, Citylight has secured free parking for our group at the Regal Movie Theater on Main Street. Please carpool when possible as a courtesy to the theater. The theater’s parking lot address is 3720 Main Street, which is a 10 to 15 minute walk to the church. You can also find limited free street parking on Cresson Street closer to the church.

On Friday, please plan to park at the movie theater. This will make it easier for you as it will be the drop-off location for the Philadelphia Ministry Experience.

  • For dinner on Thursday, you can explore and dine at one of the restaurants in Manyanuk.

For Friday, your conference fee includes lunch at Citylight and dinner at area churches in Philly.

  • Please see the schedule for when kid ministry is provided. For the Philadelphia Ministry Experience, we will provide transportation and be sure families get placed in a location that is child-friendly.

Youth are welcome to attend and can take part in all sessions. On Saturday morning, an international worker will take them around for a prayer walk.

  • Rooms are still available at the Residence Inn Philadelphia Conshohocken near the train station. This option keeps you from driving back and forth to the church and having to find parking each day.

From Conshohocken, you’ll take the Manayunk/Norristown Line (NOR) just four stops to Manayunk. It is then a 15-minute walk to the church. All you have to do is tap your credit card getting on and off the train. It will be about $3 each way.

Breakfast included. Cost $189/night. Parking is $13 a day.

    Reserve here.

Rooms are sold out at the Residence Inn by Marriott Philadelphia Bala Cynwyd.

  • We encourage groups to look into Airbnbs. Airbnbs relatively close (Manayunk, Roxborough, East Falls) should provide easy commutes and comfortable lodgings. As a heads up, there can be some pretty steep hills in this area if you plan to walk.
